Thomas J. Wright Week - Tuesday: Here's My Thing!

We plunder onwards into Thomas J. Wright Week today with a welcome return for stalwart Back to Frank Black supporter and anonymous reviewer DiRT, who presents an all-new edition of his semi-regular video column.

In this edition, DiRT explores the work of Thomas J. Wright as director on Millennium and also focuses in particular on the episode "Powers, Principalities, Thrones and Dominions". It's an entertaining and animated ride as ever and so, with a deluge of thanks to DiRT for his contribution to the week, check out the video right here:

We'll be back tomorrow with more celebrations of Thomas J. Wright's career and contributions to Millennium, so be sure to check back and we'll see you then!

Halloween Week: Tuesday - Here's My Thing!

Two goodies for Tuesday: we have another of DiRT's wonderful video reviews in Here's My Thing--this week, unsurprisingly, focused on the third season Halloween episode "Thirteen Years Later"--and secondly a nice Halloweeny wallpaper to adorn you desktop! So, without further ado...

Here's My Thing: TEOTWAWKI

It has been a while since we've heard from our resident episode reviewer, DiRT, but I am happy to announce that he is back and better than ever. Some say he was a victim of the Marburg virus, some say he sort of went the route of Lara Means, but nonetheless, he is back!

Today DiRT takes a look at the season three episode "TEOTWAWKI," offering his unique take on the episode. What sets this review apart from his other reviews is that this time, he has a special guest join him, so to speak.

Enjoy the video, and make sure you leave comments on the blog letting DiRT know your thoughts about the episode and his review of it! And don't forget to head over to the site where DiRT and the rest of his pop culture friends hang out and discuss toys, video games, comic books, and much, much more. They have revamped the site and it looks fantastic. Just follow this link

Ezekiel Editorial: TIWWAAW

This editorial is a little bit of a minefield. Little silver disks in a muddy field with "backslapper" stuck on them. I don't want this to be about backslappage, more about who we are. TIWWAAW to be precise: This Is Who We Are And Why.

The team, as you may have noticed, has expanded - which was a nerve racking thing to do, given if you're used to a certain dynamic, there's always a fear of spoiling that said dynamic. There has been no evidence of such, which is very encouraging.

For the most part of this year (and a hard personal year it has been, I have to say), myself and Troy have worked pretty much alone with the occasional input from some very dear contributors like DiRT, MR Sellars and Alison Nastasi. So this was quite a shake up.

Now we have a team which is working very professionally and I'm rather thrilled about it. One of the most exciting things for me personally is to have both godfathers of Millennium fandom involved in different ways. Millennial Abyss creator Brian Dixon is a great consultant. He has worked hard brainstorming and putting together the poster campaign. Brian is bright, open to ideas and from my experience always very positive in his approach to problem solving. The second godfather, so to speak, is Graham Smith of TIWWA is more of a silent supporter, but his support and contribution should never go unheeded. He supports the website financially and asks for nothing in return, but is never forgotten. If there is a technical issue, he's the first person to turn to and always has an idea to solve any problem. So having these two people who inspired my interest in Millennium helping us is very exciting. You'll see links to their respective sites down the side of this page. Please visit.

We also have Adam Chamberlain from Fourth Horseman Press - Brian's cohort, who has again being working as a direct consultant and helping on the blog. Both have a regular series planned for the blog too. Watch this space. Adam is very British. Calm, well mannered - easy to rib and very easy to talk to. Personally I prefer ribbing him than talking to him. There I go again. Can't stop teasing the chap.

Joselyn Rojas is a very talented video editor who has stunned Lance, Mark Snow and Tom Wright by her work. She's integral to the upcoming projects and the provider of those wonderful Movie Poster videos. A talented and dedicated individual who is enthused and smart. She's bubbly to the point of exploding. If she likes an idea, you'll know straight away.

Currently, while not team members, Avi and Tiffany from X-Files News.com are also major players in the future for BacktoFrankBlack. With such close connections between the shows and their extensive understanding of campaigns, it would be insane for both groups not to have common ground. These two are fun girls but serious when it comes to business. Never to be under-estimated!

And then there's Lance. He'd be upset if I said he's vital to the campaign, but his support cannot go unnoticed. He drives ideas, pushes the team and challenges what would normally be considered impossible. We're all a unique bunch, be we staff or fans, and that's a point he always stresses - that he is no more important than anyone else who cares about Millennium, but he does have a very active role and interest in the campaign, the concept and the fans - as those who have joined his Facebook page will know - and that page truly fascinates him. He loves seeing what the fans think and do. This guy flares up with an idea and then he'll not stop until its realised. It's his gift. It's his cur- well, no, just a gift really.

Finally, Troy, who never runs out of juice. Always there to join up the dots and push the envelope. But you all know that by now. Essentially he is the anti-me. And that works somehow. Easily amused, rarely tired and always, unswervingly a believer.

But that's the people involved right now. Brian, Adam, Lance, Joselyn, Troy and myself - with Avi and Tiffany throwing in some exciting ideas and Graham there holding us up so we can do this stuff. Our regular contributors are there too - DiRT, Murv, Alison.. all in the wings. All working in different ways but all working together.

Each year comes and I wonder how we'll top the previous year. I think we're topping like we've never topped before. Was this backslappage? I hope not. I'd like to think I can tell you what we're currently about, who we are about and why without it turning into a "aren't we great!!" post. We are all just fans - and I like to think by occasionally letting you guys know how we're working gives you an insight into what's happening and perhaps humanises the campaign somewhat, gives you an idea of who these people are.

And who am I? Well just like Zaphod Beeblebrox, I'm just some guy, you know?

Here's my B2FB T-Shirt...

Well, not actually "Here's My Thing", but it is DiRT interviewed in this toy memorabilia clip - what made this a little fun from a Back to Frank Black point-of-view is DiRT's wearing one of our T-Shirts. It's a fun clip about toys, but I'm very proud to see our Avatar shirt in there. I think Baz will be thrilled too. So here's a little Sunday fun!

MORGAN AND WONG WEEK: DAY 4 - DEAD LETTERS

In case anyone has lost count, or was thrown in part by yesterday's second part to our third part of our part Morgan, part Wong week, this is day four.

Today we make a welcome return to the ouroborus and the Millennium, having drifted into some of M&W's other rather excellent circles. To take us on our ever circular trip, we welcome the return of our favourite-reviewer-in-a-mask, DiRT! Today, DiRT will be talking to us for ten on the exciting world that is Millennium, on an episode from season one that was touched by the penship of Morgan and Wong... Dead Letters!

So without further ado, let's do the flashy player thing, and press play! And watch out for the blooper! Nice come back DiRT! :)

A reminder that our competitions are open until Sunday. To win a copy of the X-Files Season 4 Boxset, or Space: Above and Beyond boxset, simply put your name and address on an email to info@backtofrankblack.com - with "X-Files Competition" in the header for the X-Files competition, or "Space: Above and Beyond" in the header for the Space: Above and Beyond Competition (please send separate emails for both competition entries).

Please note, with humble apologies we've discovered we've been having a few problems with our emails for the first part of this week - if you've sent us a comment or competition issue entry on Monday-Wednesday night, could you PLEASE resend so we're sure all entries and comments have got to us for that period. Apologies again.

Finally, thank you to Steven Trotter for the base design that I used to flash up our Morgan and Wong week header. He's been using a similar one he created to promote the Morgan and Wong week on his Millennium Facebook Group. I think both looks great, don't you?

Welcome back beloved believers! Again we're back with another video offering from the man behind the mask, DiRT. This week we have a particular favourite of mine from Season 1 of Millennium, "The Well Worn Lock". I have lots to say about this episode, in fact I could fire it all out in a short, fun video review wearing a mask - but I think that's already been done, and done very well. So sit back like I, and enjoy the master at work!

BACKTOFRANKBLACK.COM WISHES YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you all for supporting our Midnight of The Century week and for all the kind comments you good folk left for team. As Christmas Day is all but upon us, the team at BackToFrankBlack will be taking, if I say so myself, a well deserved rest to enjoy the festive season but rest assured we will return in the New Year to continue to fight the good fight. From myself and all the team, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thanks for everything folks. We couldn't do it without you.

Before we begin stuffing our turkeys and supping our eggnog here's a few little treats to keep the Millennium spirit alive in our briefest of hiatus'. Respected writer and journalist, and friend to this campaign no less, John Kenneth Muir recently had the undoubted pleasure of speaking to the great man himself, Chris Carter. We cannot recommend this interview to you enough as it was evidently conducted by an individual who is as passionate about Millennium as we are and we are indebted to John for being so kind as mention our campaign to Mr. Carter in the process, to enjoy this sterling read, click here!

Now deep the in bowels of Lapland, our very own Santa Claus, DiRT, has been working away on a very special something to help all you Millennium fans enjoy the festive spirit. This is something a little different from DiRT's usual offerings and I know you will all agree with me that is brilliant. So grab the fat-free eggnog, the cranberry bread and the pumpkin bead and enjoy this little gem in the glow of your Christmas Tree and join with me in wishing DiRT and his family, a very merry Christmas!

Now before we disappear into the punch-bowl let me leave you all with on final dangle of the carrot. BackToFrankBlack will be back, briefly, between Christmas and the new year with something rather exclusive and rather exciting starring a very special Millennium cast member reprising their role, yup you read that right, for the first time in over a decade. We think legions of you will be happen with the result. Till then. To the Midnight of the Century!

MIDNIGHT OF THE CENTURY WEEK DAY FOUR: HERE'S DIRT'S THING - VIDEO REVIEW!

You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I'm telling you why...DiRT's coming to town of course and now that he's finished decking the halls and fa-la-la-la-la-ing we had the chance to sit him front of the television with a glass of mulled wine and a slice of Yule log with instructions to cast his discerning gaze upon the reason for our week of celebrations, Midnight Of The Century!

Christmas Eve and the anniversary of his mother's death brings Frank Black into confrontations with Catherine, his estranged father, and even an angel. All the painful memories and arguments serve a purpose, however, in helping to steer Frank in the right direction for dealing with some important decisions regarding Jordan and the gifts she's inherited. Like most of you I have watched Midnight of the Century more than a few times over the festive season and I know that I love it but let's find out what our resident reviewer thinks of Millennium's very first festive outing.

So now you know, that's DiRT's view of Midnight Of The Century and now we want to know yours. Did DiRT hit the nail on the head for you or was he so wrong you considered for a moment if he had had more mulled wine than he should have done. So, dust down those keyboards and tell us what you think. Rest assured, DiRT reads all the feedback he gets so don't be shy and please, join with me in wishing him and his family a very Merry Christmas!

As always, every new video we add to Youtube, or is added to Youtube for us, reaches out to a whole new audience and may find a Millennium fan who never knew of our campaign in the process. Don't forget, keep sending those letters and postcards to Mr. Steve Asbell.

As always, lend your considerable support to the man and go visit his own websites and find out what it's all about. Remember, every video made for the this campaign is an indispensable way of reaching out to a potential new campaigner.

Whilst you are enjoying this week, please take some time to remember why we are here and why we strive to bring you things we think you, as Millennium fans, will find enjoyable. Our very reason for existing is to encourage supporters of the show to send letters and postcards to Steve Asbell asking for a return of Frank Black and I shall dispense with any shred of dignity I have left and beg you to do just that. If you don't have the facilities to print the postcards we release then do as Russ did above, send whatever you have to hand and, if I'm honest, I like his own contribution more than anything I have designed. It shows a certain individuality and nothing speaks louder than that. No more tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow folks, post them today!

HERE'S DIRT'S THING: BEWARE OF THE DOG!

Ladies and gentlemen it's time, once again, for our masked avenger, wrestlemaniac and super powered reviewer DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. This time it's time for a wander down to Bucksnort for season two's Beware of The Dog.

Beware Of The Dog sees Frank travel to Bucksnort, a small town where residents fear for their lives outdoors after the sun goes down, when packs of blood-thirsty dogs roam the streets. Here he discovers that the Millennium Group and its members may be far stranger than is common knowledge and that there may be truth to legends of demons who took on the form of canines. Whatever you think of this episode, kudos has to be given for introducing R.G. Armstrong as The Old Man, a character who was to become beloved of fans and rightly so. So grab some coffee with half-fat cream (and don't forget the cinnamon this time) let's see what DiRT thought shall we?

So did he get it right or do we we have to send a pack of baying hounds after his blood? Here's where you tell us what you thought of his thoughts. Rest assured, DiRT does check out your comments so please do share them. And whilst I'm here, I hope you will join me in wishing all our US friends, including DiRT, a truly wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

HERE'S DIRT'S THING: GREETINGS FROM BUCKSNORT!

Ladies and gentlemen, by now you will have come to expect that Thursday will be the time for DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. Unfortunately, our good friend is a little under the weather with a dose of flu at present (where's that Millennium Group Antidote when you need it) and is under the care of Dr. Steven Kiley for the time being. Only joking of course.

In the meantime our reviewer extrodinaire has asked me to give you a heads up that next week he will turn his attention to the season two episode, Beware of The Dog and in the meantime he wants you good folk to get your thinking caps on and post your thoughts about the episode. If you recall, DiRT dealt with your feedback in a previous episode which was huge amounts of fun and I'm sure you will share your thoughts with him this time as well.

Till then, join with me in wishing DiRT a speedy recovery and allow me to express how much we are looking forward to seeing him back to his best next week. Get well soon my friend.

HERE'S DIRT'S THING! DIRT'S TOP FIVE!

Ladies and gentlemen it's time, once again, for our masked avenger, wrestlemaniac and super powered reviewer DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. This time it's a little break from tradition with DiRT giving us his top five Millennium episodes of all time!

Top Five eh? Where do you begin? Sixty seven episodes of sheer brilliance spanning three wonderful seasons each with their own highs and lows: it's no mean feat to select just five from those and I'm glad the task didn't fall to me that's for sure. No two lists of this kind ever look the same and as people's opinions change all the time there's no doubt this one will look very different if we asked DiRT the same question some time down the line but, for now, here it is. Dirt's top five!

So now you know. DiRT's top five and the thing we want to know is did you agree with his choices? From the sixty seven available options did our erstwhile reviewer pick the best five on offer? If you had to compile your own top five how would your own list look? So don't be shy, share your thoughts with us and be sure that DiRT will be following your comments and will add his own as well.

As always, every new video we add to Youtube, or is

Here's Dirt's Thing - Maranatha Video Review!

Ladies and gentlemen it's time, once again, for our masked avenger, wrestlemaniac and super powered reviewer DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. This time it's Maranatha and Frank Black's battle with a Russian Antichrist.

In Maranatha, Frank Black and Peter Watts investigate a series of brutal killings in the Brighton Beach Russian community of New York City. The shotgun slayings seem to be the work of mysterious Russian diplomat Sergei Stepanovich, a man recognized by the local immigrants as Yaponchik, a mythical Russian figure destined by prophecy to be revealed as the Antichrist. Now it might just be me but Yaponchik could well be a near rival for Lucy Butler as one of Frank's most chilling adversaries.

To my mind, Maranatha had the feel of a gothic melodrama with few spoons of Russian religious thinking mixed with global unease about nuclear power but you're not here to listen to me right? So grab a Vodka, a dish of Soleniye Ogurscy and settle back for more from the man with the mask.....

Is he right or wrong? What do you think of Maranatha? Did Chip write his Millennium magnum opus way back in season one or was his later attempts much better. And what about Lance, great acting or do better next time? Whatever your opinion about this episode and this review we want to hear about it.

As always, every new video we add to Youtube, or is added to Youtube for us, reaches out to a whole new audience and may find a Millennium who never knew of our campaign in the process. Don't forget, keep sending those letters and postcards to Mr. Steve Asbell.

As always, lend your considerable support to the man and go visit his own websites and find out what it's all about. Remember, every video made for the this campaign is an indispensable way of reaching out to a potential new campaigner.

THE CURSE OF FRANK BLACK WEEK DAY FOUR: DiRTS REVIEW AND MILLENNIUM VISTA GADGETS!

Time, once again, for our weekly reviewer, DiRT, to cast his discerning eye upon another episode of Millennium and it shouldn't take a genius to work out which episode will be getting the DiRT treatment this week. The Curse of Frank Black is arguably one of the finest episodes of the show and rarely do you happen upon a fan of Millennium who doesn't hold it in high regard. For many, myself included, this episode is a staple part of their Halloween festivities. Glen Morgan and James Wong's ghostly journey from uncertainty to renewed determination, played out on the silent, wind-blown streets of Frank's neighbourhood on Halloween night is essential Halloween viewing. But does DiRT agree? Let's find out.....

So what do you guys think of the episode and of DiRT's review of it? Is Millennium's first foray into the spooky goodness of Halloween a trick or a treat? Leave us your views and join with me also in wishing DiRT and his family a wonderful Halloween season.

Thought we'd finished right? Wrong. Graham P Smith is an individual whom the Millennium Fan Community owes its very existence to. As a Halloween gift to the community Graham has expanded the range of very popular Vista Gadgets he has created with six new additions to celebrate the Halloween Season.

The Halloween Pumpkin Animated Countdown is a gadget which you can install on Windows Vista's Sidebar or Windows 7, or simply drag and drop it from your sidebar to your desktop. The gadget features an image of Frank's pumpkin from the eerie and highly atmospheric episode 'The Curse of Frank Black', which displays your name and the number of days remaining. The gadget is personalised and instead displays the name of the current Windows user. What's more, this particular version is animated, with it's candle flamer flickering, and it takes you to BacktoFrankBlack.com when you click on the pumpkin. What more could you ask for?

TIWWA members will be able to access the full range of Millennium Vista Gadgets now. Simply head over to the forum and visit the Download Manager for these exclusive treats and much more besides. If you are not a member of TIWWA then register today. Graham Smith's Millennium Forum is the hub of the Millennium fan community. It was from that forum and its membership that BackToFrankBlack was born and it remains for all of us the heart and soul of the work we do here. TIWWA is an essential part of every Millennium fan's day and if you haven't joined the fun - now's your chance.

So join with me in wishing Graham and his family a superb Halloween and thank him for the 'treats' he has shared with BackToFrankBlack for the holiday season. That said, happy downloading and enjoy your gadgets!

Here's DiRT's Thing: Force Majeure

Ladies and gentlemen it's time, once again, for our masked avenger, wrestlemaniac and super powered reviewer DiRT to cast his x-ray vision upon another episode of Millennium and direct his considerable following in our direction in the process. This time it's Force Majeure as DiRT wanted to pay homage to one of his favourite genre stars, Brad Dourif, as we enter the Halloween season. Something wicked this way comes......

Force Majeure is something of a mind bender, with many fans proclaiming confusion as to what it was all about, and it is certainly one which provokes debate. A man in an iron lung, a bevy of blue eyed girls and a planetary alignment heralding the apocalypse: this was Millennium dipping its toes in the waters of Season Two for the first time. Confused as to why the girls killed themselves, wondering if the narrative was peppered with too many ideas but spellbound by Dourif as Hoffman? Well you're not alone but let's have a look what DiRT thought of it. Grab the popcorn guys....

So what do you guys think of the episode and of DiRT's review of it? It was Millennium's first move away from the 'Serial Killer Of The Week' format that it adopted throughout much of season one and many responded positively to a little tinkering with the format. What say you?

As always, every new video we add to Youtube, or is added to Youtube for us, reaches out to a whole new audience and may find a Millennium who never knew of our campaign in the process. Don't forget, keep sending those letters and postcards t
o Mr. Steve Asbell.
