This coming Saturday myself, Jim "Sprightly" McLean, and Troy "Luscious" Foreman will be appearing for their second time live on the Lance Feltman Radio Show at around 9am EST on Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM.
This is in light of the recent developments in regards to the campaign to bring back Frank Black. If you want some of the inside gossip, listen in!
This editorial is a little bit of a minefield. Little silver disks in a muddy field with "backslapper" stuck on them. I don't want this to be about backslappage, more about who we are. TIWWAAW to be precise: This Is Who We Are And Why.
The team, as you may have noticed, has expanded - which was a nerve racking thing to do, given if you're used to a certain dynamic, there's always a fear of spoiling that said dynamic. There has been no evidence of such, which is very encouraging.
For the most part of this year (and a hard personal year it has been, I have to say), myself and Troy have worked pretty much alone with the occasional input from some very dear contributors like DiRT, MR Sellars and Alison Nastasi. So this was quite a shake up.
Now we have a team which is working very professionally and I'm rather thrilled about it. One of the most exciting things for me personally is to have both godfathers of Millennium fandom involved in different ways. Millennial Abyss creator Brian Dixon is a great consultant. He has worked hard brainstorming and putting together the poster campaign. Brian is bright, open to ideas and from my experience always very positive in his approach to problem solving. The second godfather, so to speak, is Graham Smith of TIWWA is more of a silent supporter, but his support and contribution should never go unheeded. He supports the website financially and asks for nothing in return, but is never forgotten. If there is a technical issue, he's the first person to turn to and always has an idea to solve any problem. So having these two people who inspired my interest in Millennium helping us is very exciting. You'll see links to their respective sites down the side of this page. Please visit.
We also have Adam Chamberlain from Fourth Horseman Press - Brian's cohort, who has again being working as a direct consultant and helping on the blog. Both have a regular series planned for the blog too. Watch this space. Adam is very British. Calm, well mannered - easy to rib and very easy to talk to. Personally I prefer ribbing him than talking to him. There I go again. Can't stop teasing the chap.
Joselyn Rojas is a very talented video editor who has stunned Lance, Mark Snow and Tom Wright by her work. She's integral to the upcoming projects and the provider of those wonderful Movie Poster videos. A talented and dedicated individual who is enthused and smart. She's bubbly to the point of exploding. If she likes an idea, you'll know straight away.
Currently, while not team members, Avi and Tiffany from X-Files News.com are also major players in the future for BacktoFrankBlack. With such close connections between the shows and their extensive understanding of campaigns, it would be insane for both groups not to have common ground. These two are fun girls but serious when it comes to business. Never to be under-estimated!
And then there's Lance. He'd be upset if I said he's vital to the campaign, but his support cannot go unnoticed. He drives ideas, pushes the team and challenges what would normally be considered impossible. We're all a unique bunch, be we staff or fans, and that's a point he always stresses - that he is no more important than anyone else who cares about Millennium, but he does have a very active role and interest in the campaign, the concept and the fans - as those who have joined his Facebook page will know - and that page truly fascinates him. He loves seeing what the fans think and do. This guy flares up with an idea and then he'll not stop until its realised. It's his gift. It's his cur- well, no, just a gift really.
Finally, Troy, who never runs out of juice. Always there to join up the dots and push the envelope. But you all know that by now. Essentially he is the anti-me. And that works somehow. Easily amused, rarely tired and always, unswervingly a believer.
But that's the people involved right now. Brian, Adam, Lance, Joselyn, Troy and myself - with Avi and Tiffany throwing in some exciting ideas and Graham there holding us up so we can do this stuff. Our regular contributors are there too - DiRT, Murv, Alison.. all in the wings. All working in different ways but all working together.
Each year comes and I wonder how we'll top the previous year. I think we're topping like we've never topped before. Was this backslappage? I hope not. I'd like to think I can tell you what we're currently about, who we are about and why without it turning into a "aren't we great!!" post. We are all just fans - and I like to think by occasionally letting you guys know how we're working gives you an insight into what's happening and perhaps humanises the campaign somewhat, gives you an idea of who these people are.
And who am I? Well just like Zaphod Beeblebrox, I'm just some guy, you know?
After three weeks of wearing a digital blindfold, I'm back to the fold, to help shepherd more Millennium wonders taped to some very frightened sheep into the pen of Millennium fans. The wonky metaphors are back, as is the wish to be less sober. Back to the grind.
This editorial is to serve two purposes, first and foremost to give you a round-up of what's going down in the 'hood, so to speak, and second to offer a thanks and a sticky badge labelled "kudos" to my colleague Troy Foreman.
Troy has worked flat out these past three weeks on his lonesome, keeping the blog uptodate, Facebook running, scheduling interviews and planning future events. On top of that, he's kept me informed on what's up to virtually every single day. While he never looks for thanks - and as a preference, I prefer to avoid giving any where possible as it makes me feel awkward, his hard work needs a shout out, so here be the shout out.
On more interesting news than Troy L Foreman (the L stands for "Fanboy", I haven't the heart to tell him he's got the wrong initial in his name), here's what you really want to know: what's coming up this summer.
Well those who have been watching the blog or following the Facebook or tapping into our phonecalls (yeah we know (this is) who you are), will have seen we just did a block interview day with both Director/Producer Tom Wright and Writer/Producer James Wong. Those interviews - in my opinion - went down a treat, so look forward to those. Both gents needed no persuasion to come talk to us, having heard how interested you guys were in their work. For James, I think finding out about the campaign and how interested people still are in Millennium has given him an opportunity to enjoyably revisit the work he'd long put behind him. For Tom, well, he just loves Millennium. So I think you'll all find both interviews very fascinating indeed.
On top of that, the charity work contines as we plead for material from our contacts. Yes, this now half a year past when we projected to do the event, but we had no idea of the scope and the logistics - it's a learning game and we're only human. The task has been bigger than we anticipated and we'd rather do a good job with the best array of items to auction than just bang it out for the sake of it. The charity, Children of the Night - to help get kids out of prostitution - is possibly one of the best causes I could imagine working for, so I want this done the best we can. So yes, we're still pushing to get that ready. That's still very much on the cards.
We have another three interviews scheduled (in my off-the-cuff-should-have-written-them-down brain) and we'll be throwing word out on those shortly. So summer will be one for interviews again. We've got another "event week" planned as well, more on that next week.
Speaking of Millennium Group Sessions - we have another panel discussion in the works, a couple perhaps. So stay tuned for those.
On top of that, the work we whispered to you back in Feb with Lance continues. Just so you know we're not yanking your chain or putting teasers out unnecessarily. Yes, again this is another example as with the charity of timing proving more difficult than anticipated - but the bigger the plan, the harder it is to place the pieces, so there is occasionally some drift. That's life - but the intentions are still there. Our hope had been to announce at BIFFF but unfortunately logistics meant we had to step back and reassess how we were to do this particular project. So again, its still ongoing.
Media wise, we're still pushing the boat. Troy is looking at more radio promotions, we are now looking at FOX more closely and seeing what can be done that side.
On top of this, we have of course the usual regular material. We'll have a Seven and One tomorrow, DiRT is still delivering his "Here's My Thing", and we'll be keeping you up to date with all the announcements and events that work around the world of Millennium.

"What has the reception been from FOX thus far? Any interaction?
There has not been an official response from FOX as of yet. We were sending our letters and postcards initially to Michael Broidy of FOX, but after a while, we found out from Frank Spotnitz that he was not the person to send them to. After doing some digging around, we were given the name Steve Asbell, and that is who we are focusing our attention on right now. The people behind XFN (Xfiles News) who are trying to get a 3rd X-Files movie made, were lucky enough to get a meeting with Michael Broidy and during the meeting, he stated that he had been receiving many postcards from fans of the show Millennium. So at least we know they were getting there!"

Back during The Curse Of Frank Black Week we unveiled a fantastic competition that would allow one of you lucky people to get your hands on a wonderful piece of campaign memorabilia. Josef compiled all the music montages he had created up until that point and created a stunning DVD compilation complete with menus, covers and all the good things you would expect from someone as talented as he is. When Josef and Troy ventured to Chicago for the Flashback Horror Convention they were lucky enough to have Lance Henriksen sign the DVD so that we could give it away to one of you good people.
