Box Office Charts: w/c 15 January 2010

In the US: Avatar makes it five weeks at the top of the US chart, and will perhaps be further buoyed by its recent Golden Globes wins... post-apocalyptic drama THE BOOK OF ELI is a surprisingly big hit at #2 with $31m... Peter Jackson's THE LOVELY BONES enters at #3 with $17m, despite some very mixed reviews... and the poorly-reviewed Jackie Chan comedy THE SPY NEXT DOOR bows in at #6 with a weak $9m...

Denzel Washington's THE BOOK OF ELI opens to £1.2m to take #6... and there's terrible news for ALL ABOUT STEVE, as Sandra Bullock's latest doesn't enter the top 10, with only £275k to its name...
