generations in Toobworld, May O'Brien's branch of the family tree (certainly not mine!) would lead to Miles Edward O'Brien, Chief Engineer of the Deep Space Nine space station.
In its framework as a medical drama, 'Diagnosis Murder' was mostly a murder mystery. And thanks to writers like Lee Goldberg, there were some crossovers with other TV series. When the father of one of Dr. Sloan's team turned out to be a spy and in trouble, they consulted with Cinnamon who had long since retired from service with the IMF. When private eye Joe Mannix had to re-investigate an old case from his own series, he turned to his personal physician to help tie up the loose ends. (Mark Sloan treated Mannix for all those gun shots and conks to the head. One thing you don't want to see in Toobworld - the shaved head of Joe Mannix!)And because I never want 'Star Trek' to feel like the unloved step-child, especially since it is so vital to the expansion of the TV Universe, here's something a little.... Huj.....

| THE KNOWN WORLD - 1482 |
It's missing an old-fashioned country doctor to stand in for McCoy, but otherwise this steam-punk version of 'Star Trek' is a fun spoof of not only the show but the cliches of silent movies....
With President Washington killed in 2011, the timeline of Skitlandia would have changed - creating a new reality. In the new timeline, America would have become a colony of the British Empire again.
That the military officer (Was he wearing an Iron Cross?) was able to recognize the fact that the country had been altered by the murder of George Washington means that he and the Congressional members implicated in the death - Senator Rand Paul, Representative Nancy Pelosi, and Speaker of the House John Boehner - were unaffected by the timeline shift. They remembered the world as it once was.
This was probably due to their proximity to the time maching built by the Pentagon, in much the same way that Captain Kirk and his landing party were unaffected by the drastic change to the timeline of the universe created by Doctor McCoy when he passed through the gateway of the Guardian of Forever.
A lot o' thunkin' goin' on, just for a five minute sketch on 'Saturday Night Live'. O'Bsessed with the Toobworld Dynamic? Who, me?
BCnU!Sean Lee Levin went the extra metron and found more information about Dr. Jacoby of 'Twin Peaks' in the IMDb forums. It was submitted by an "Evedammit" back in 2005 and it supplies yet another TV show connection to the David Lynch/Mark Frost cult classic.
He played Dr. Jacoby on 'Twin Peaks' in `90 and he also played a Dr. Jacoby on 'General Hospital' a few years later- anybody here watch it then & remember it? His Dr. Jacoby on G.H. was a sociopath who did some awful things to the Emily character {who was then being portrayed by Russ's real-life daughter Amber}.
Was it just a coincidence of the names or was the character of Dr. Jacoby being continued on in another show for quirkiness's sake? And if it WAS supposed to be the same Dr. Jacoby, was it explained how his G.H. era Dr. Jacoby devolved into such a twisted character from the merely weird Dr. Jacoby on 'Twin Peaks'?
Sean's suggestion in his note to me seems to be the best pozz'ble splainin: that the second Dr. Jacoby who showed up in Port Charles, NY, in 2000 must be the evil twin of Dr. Lawrence Jacoby.
Of course, it's also pozz'ble, just pozz'ble, that it IS Lawrence Jacoby and - like FBI Agent Dale Cooper before him - he's possessed by an evil spirit brought back from the Black Lodge in that other dimension.
In fact, it could be the same evil spirit that previously possessed Cooper, sliding into one host after another.
Or it could be Redjac.......
Either way, it would appear that by 2011, Dr. Jacoby was free of the evil spirit. Otherwise why would he bother to send Walter Bishop those 3D specs?
And where could that evil spirit be by now? Maybe providing commentary and analysis on Fox News.....
How's Annie Coulter? How's Annie Coulter? How's Annie Coulter?
As always, thanks, Sean!

Years ago, MCI had a "Friends & Family" phone deal commercial that utilized many of the cast members from the original 'Star Trek'... plus an added guest.....
Okay, watch this blipvert for KFC, and then I'll share my thoughts about it.......
In Toobworld, everything is alive. I don't know if that's some Native American spiritual belief, or just a manifestation of the Force, but the flowers, the trees, and even the rocks not only live, but they can speak.
Here's an example as far as the rocks go......
I have Bill Erwin, Emmy nominated for a guest appearance on 'Seinfeld', listed in the Hat Squad tributes as the last actor to pass away in 2010. However, it looks as though Per Oscarsson of Sweden actually takes that final spot in the roll call - two bodies have been found in the burned ruins of his home and they are believed to be the award-winning octogenarian and his wife.
But even so, I wanted to tip my cap to Mr. Erwin. I've always been a big fan of the character actors and it saddens me deeply every time one of them finally leaves the stage. Not only for the contributions they made to the Tele-Folks Directory of Earth Prime-Time, but because I fear there will never be anyone coming along of their caliber to take their place.
Mr. Erwin is probably best known to TV audiences as he looked as an old man in shows of the last twenty years, like 'Seinfeld' and 'Star Trek: The Next Generation':
But he was knocking around in the different time periods of Toobworld for many years, providing many characters to the TV roster.
As an example, here's how he looked in an episode of 'The Rifleman':
I'm not sure the argument could be made that his character of Joe Flecker of the Old West was related to Sid Fields of New York City, but he could be an ancestor to Dr. Dalen Quaice who was seen on board the Enterprise.....
Good night and may God bless, good sir.

I'm not a Time Lord; I can't go back into the Toobworld timeline and re-do the ending to the 'Doctor Who' episode "Waters Of Mars". But if I could, I would have found a more satisfying conclusion to the tale.
But I suppose RTD needed to show that the Doctor had reached the limits of his hubris and, just as in the old Greek myths, he had to be brought low for it.

I think "Kelvington" has really outdone himself with this mash-up.....

Also, the visor worn in replacement of the navigator's eye may seem antiquated considering that nearly identical timespan, but the surgery that gave Geordi LaForge bionic eyes might not be suitable for everyone in the future - just like laser surgery or contact lenses still aren't right for everyone today.
(As an added treat, I think Murray Gold fashioned one of the 'Doctor Who' themes to sound a lot like the music heard as many a 'Star Trek' scene began when we first saw the starliner.....)
This is from a great 'Doctor Who'-focused blog called "Life, The Universe, And Combom":
In "Boom Town", when explaining the TARDIS' police box shape and the chameleon circuit to Mickey, Rose uses the term "cloaking device", a "Star Trek" reference previously used by the eighth Doctor when explaining it to Grace Holloway.
As both shows should share the same TV dimension, Rose still could have picked it up from the 'Star Trek' TV series. Toobworld Central has splained that away in the past - somebody from the Future (and it could have been the Doctor himself) brought information about Starfleet back in Time to Gene Roddenberry to make sure he produced the show and help keep the dream alive for when it would finally come to be.
But at the same time, in her many travels with the Doctor between episodes (let's say, between "The Doctor Dances" and "Boom Town"), Rose could have been in the era of 'Star Trek' and learned about the cloaking device first-hand.
