Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Nine

Welcome back to the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase and Day Nine, our final review of some of the entries for the competition.

This first entry features the opening quote from first season episode "Dead Letters". Also amongst the signs, names and imagery is a reference to Phaestos, a name last used to reference Al Pepper in the episode "Powers, Principalities, Thrones and Dominions". Maybe this movie will feature Legion at its heart?

Today's second image is very much a teaser, sporting no overt reference to Millennium at all! The mask and tone may, however, indicate a return to the themes of the second season finale two-parter The Fourth Horseman / The Time Is Now.

And finally, another intriguing proposition. "Millennium: Next" is the title of this movie, featuring the ouroboros intertwined with the triquetra, a symbol with Celtic links that usually signifies things or people that are threefold in nature. Quite what this may mean is a tease in itself, but this poster offers us much more: a barren desert juxtaposed against snow-topped mountains, the shadows of Peter Watts and Catherine in the background of each, plus Frank Black in a black suit and tie - maybe relating to a funeral and hence another death of someone close to him? The tagline too tells us to expect everything to have changed in ways we don't yet understand.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Eight

We're into a second week of entries for the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase. We've got three more for you today, starting with this moody image of Frank Black set against a foregound filled with mysterious calligraphy. Lance Henriksen is the sole billed star, and "The wait is over" for his return as our favourite criminal profiler.

This next image is another atmospheric piece. Whilst dominated by Frank's profile partly in shadow, it is notable that both an owl and a rooster are to be seen. And check out the time on that clock tower!

Adam Glazer

Eerily lit woodland scenes are a popular backdrop to a number of the images we have received, and here's another good example of such a composition. Here, Millennium is coming in 2012, perhaps hinting at a plot based around Mayan prophecy.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Seven

We notch up one whole week's worth of posters in the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase today with some more great entries.

This first, spookily lit composition specifically calls to mind "The Curse of Frank Black" as well as the line, "We are meant to be here" taken from Alex Ventoux's diary musings, perhaps hinting that some of the themes and tone of Season Two are set to be revisited.

Up next is a particularly dark piece combining a number of familiar elements from the show to dramatic effect. "STOP LOOKING" we are warned, the Yellow House is aflame and Frank is in turmoil, with an indication that the polaroids are set to make a return too.

This third entry posits a very specific plot for the movie, introduced with a pertinent biblical quote: a fan favourite storyline that the Millennium Group are targeting Jordan Black as a candidate. Given their history with Frank Black, we can only guess at the personal dramas to unfold here.

And finally, this bleakly apocalyptic piece also sees the return of some familiar favourites: Emma Hollis, Peter Watts and Jordan all feature in the headline cast alongside Frank Black himself as a creative team headed by Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz and Thomas J. Wright look set to take us to a quite literal end of the world scenario.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Six

Day Six of the Millennium Movie Gallery Showcase and we have another three teasing poster images for you.

First up, the mantra "This Is Who We Are" is turned back on the audience as - in a scrawl reminiscent of something out of The Dark Knight - we are asked menacingly who we are in turn.

This second image takes the closing moments of Season Three and series finale "Goodbye to All That" and suggests that the movie will be a direct continuation of the storyline as we left it with Frank and Jordan escaping off into the sunset.

And today's final image sees most of Season Three's top cast receive top billing in a Chris Carter screenplay, and asks us if we're ready now that "The Time Has Come". We surely are!

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Five

Welcome back and to Day Five of the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase. We kick off today's selection with an image featuring no less than two of our judges! Frank Black and Emma Hollis are reunited in this feature that also displays a lone, dilapidated house spilling ethereal wisps of smoke into the night sky and which doubtless contains mysterious secrets behind that eerie facade.

Frank's alone in the rain-streaked wilderness in the second entry, which also proclaims that, "We were wrong all along". We are left to wonder about what precisely... The true date for the turn of the millennium? The nature of the Group? As with the movie itself, the possibilities are tantalisingly varied.

And today's final poster proclaims that the countdown is over! Both to the return of Frank Black and, perhaps, the Group's own apocalyptic deadline, hinting at a climax to their story too.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Four

It's Day Four of our review of some of the Millennium Movie Poster Project entries and we've got another three great images to share with you.

First up is this ominous composition in which they are 97 days remaining, hinting at some imminent catastrophic event towards which we are counting down. Lara Means is set to return in the cast in this feature, which has another celebrated writing partnership penning the script - Glen Morgan & James Wong - and is once again directed by Thomas Wright.

Portraits of four characters feature on this next entry. Lucy Butler co-stars once again, as does a grown-up Jordan Black alongside her father. The legend proclaims the themes that would form the heart of this feature film.

Today's final offering comes with a tantalising title - "A Kiss in the Dark" - and an accompanying tagline, with a visual suggestion that stabbings may feature as a killer's modus operandi. Peter Watts is visible here too, once again proving he survived the events of the TV show's finale!

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Three

Welcome back to the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase as we chalk up Day Three with another trilogy of images selected from our competing artists.

First up is a striking illustration making bold use of colour and "welcoming" back Frank Black with a huge devilish visage looming over him.

Following that is another appearance from Lucy Butler, playing on one of the most haunting images from the TV show's entire run. We are promised other returning characters too - Jordan, Emma Hollis and Peter Watts - in a story penned by the winning writing partnership of Chris Carter & Frank Spotnitz and directed by another firm fan favourite (and upcoming podcast interviewee!) Tom Wright.

Finally, a finely detailed hand-drawn portrait of Frank and Catherine, reuniting the couple in stark black and white.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day Two

Welcome to Day Two of the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase and three more posters from amongst our competition entries.

The first image here is reminiscent of one of the teaser posters that helped launch Millennium whilst very much retaining its own visual identity and hinting at a brand new mystery.

Up next is a photographic-based offering that calls to mind the bold imagery from the show's opening credits sequence. It also features and expands upon some familiar phraseology and bills a headline cast which hints that Peter Watts is alive and well!

And finally a simple but no less effective composition - the only one today to feature an image of Frank Black himself, no less! - boldly announcing the return of everyone's favourite criminal profiler.

Millennium Movie Poster Project: Gallery Showcase Day One

Welcome to Day One of the Millennium Movie Poster Project Gallery Showcase! Over the next week or so we will be showcasing many of the entries we have received. For now we won't be crediting any of the artists - until after the winners have been announced - but we will be certain to do so at a later date.

These first three posters exemplify the range of entries we received. From a starkly affecting monochromatic teaser to a detailed portrait of Frank Black himself - both with taglines - to a photographic composition.

This third entry is notable for including a subtitle as well as listing some cast and crew, including the first - but certainly not the last - appearance for nemesis Lucy Butler. We'll be showcasing more examples of each of these styles of poster and others over the coming days, so be sure to check back again tomorrow!
