Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas holidays with a mystery brunette just a month after split with long-term girlfriend Carla 'Cutie' Garcia

Footballers are known for moving quickly on the pitch - but some carry that trait into their personal lives. 

Take Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas who split from his long-term girlfriend last month and already appears to have picked up a replacement. 

The 24-year-old midfielder headed to the south of France with the brunette, rumoured to be named Daniela, as he got some much needed respite from the rigours of Premiership football.

The mystery woman, who is very similar in appearance to his last girlfriend Carla Garcia, initially threw on a yellow cutaway number as the couple relaxed by the pool on their sun loungers.

She gave sportsman a massage as he enjoyed the Mediterranean sun, later the couple took a dip in the water to cool off. 

Meanwhile Fabregas appeared to have spent a little too long in the sun - his chest an uncomfortable looking shade of red - Carla placing her hands on his chest as they arose from their loungers.

But after spending an inactive few hours topping up their tans, the footballer and his partner headed out to sea for an adrenalin rush aboard a jet ski. 

For this endeavour she changed into a pale lilac two-piece and Essex-style wedge heels. 

They then headed out to sea on board a jet ski for an exciting whizz around in the sea together.

And this is not the last foreign trip Fabregas has planned, in fact it could be a mere stop off for the Premiership star. 

According to his Twitter page he will also head over to Jakarta and Bali. 

He wrote: 'I can‘t wait for next week to go to Jakarta and Bali. Wait for meeee!!!! ;)'

England Under-21s 1-2 Czech Republic Under-21s: Dramatic late fightback sends Stuart Pearce's men crashing out of European Championships

Two late goals are decisive as England have victory snatched away from them in a frenetic last 15 minutes sees Three Lions hopes of progression die with defeat.

England Under 21's European dream is over. In a game they needed to win two late goals from Jan Chramosta and Tomas Pekhart ensured Czech Republic Under 21progress to the semi-finals with England finishing third in their Group.

With Spain already through as group winners both sides knew that anything other than a win for England would mean the Three Lions would be heading home. For much of the evening neither side showed much urgency with so much riding on the result but the final 15 kinutes decided the game.

The game offered very little to entertain in the early stages. One would assume a game of such simple importance – win or you’re out – England would hit the ground running. But the opposite transpired. Very little urgency or zest was displayed by England and until Lukas Marecek showed great improvisational skill to smash a right-footed volley goalwards forcing a marvellous save from Frankie Fielding, Stuart Pearce’s side seemed almost disinterested.

The opposite could be said about Czech Republic. A draw was all they needed to advance with Spain and they were clearly content to go through the motions.

Perhaps England’s best chance to open the scoring was fluffed by Tom Cleverley. A surging run down the left by Ryan Betrand opened space to allow him to deliver a deep cross to the far post which the Manchester United man prodded wide. It summed up England’s production to that moment, very little to speak of and of poor quality.

Scott Sinclair would have been cursing his luck after 40 minutes when his drive from the left channel drew an excellent save from Tomas Vaclik. It was a glimpse of what England can produce but they were troubling Vaclik too infrequently to unsettle the Czech Republic.

Into the second half things were not improving for England. There was much huffing and puffing but what attempts on the Czech goal were from too far out to have any real venom.

England could have made their plight much graver just after the hour when Sinclair’s decision to drop back and help out at the back almost cost a goal. Sinclair slid in to clear the danger but he accidentally pushed the ball into the path of Marecek but his shot was wayward.

Stuart Pearce chose to shake things up a little when he brought Henri Lansbury on for Jordan Henderson in an attempt to alter the look of England who were still searching for the lifeline.

That lifeline was firmly grasped not long after when Welbeck’s header gave England the goal they were looking for. Daniel Sturridge was provider as he delivered an excellent cross which the Manchester United deftly directed beyond Vaclik.

The goal turned matters on their head, and now it was Czech Republic’s turn to chase the affair and follow Spain into the semi-finals. With England confident that the victory was their's the sub Jan Chramosta grabbed a late goal to sink England's hopes.


Moments later Tomas Pekhart made sure as he tapped home an easy goal to make sure his side finished second and England will return home.

New English Premier League fixtures released

In one fell swoop, supporters of all 20 Prem teams can pore over the schedule and map out their team's road to glory, or perdition if you're one of those types. It's a time when virtually every statement must be followed with the asterisk of "on paper." As in, "My team should cruise through October and beat Sunderland and Wigan … on 

Without that "on paper," we know all too well that we could be looking the part of fools, especially after coming off such a topsy-turvy Premier League season. But that still doesn't stop us from fearless prognostications, counting up how many points we think our teams will tally for each month and where the title and relegation battles will be won and 

The season officially kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 13. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, what jumps out at first glance among some of the contenders for the first half of the season? Here are some top-line 

1. Arsenal has a rude 

Forget that the Gunners must qualify for the Champions League in August. They're also staring down the barrel of a fairly difficult start to the season, with a trip up north to Newcastle (where they infamously blew a four-goal lead in the corresponding fixture last season) before a home game against a revitalized Liverpool and a trip to Old Trafford. But Arsene Wenger's men will get a breather in September with matches at home with newly promoted Swansea and Bolton, as well as away to Blackburn, which should be a slam dunk of nine points. October will present stronger challenges in Tottenham away, the physical play of Sunderland and Stoke at home, and Chelsea away, before another nice respite in November: West Brom at home, Norwich away and Fulham at 

2. Defending champ's tough 

Manchester United starts off away at West Brom, which isn't exactly a guaranteed three points given the Red Devils' patchy away-form last season. Right after that come key tilts at home to Tottenham and Arsenal. Without being overly dramatic, these August clashes could foreshadow how the EPL season will play out. If United flops, it will embolden the other title contenders; if it lays down a marker by taking full points, it'll set the tone that it won't be easy to wrest the title away from the Red Devils. But after August, it doesn't get much easier for Sir Alex Ferguson and his players, with an away trip to Bolton, home to Chelsea and then away to Stoke all before Oct. 1. In fact, United will have faced the other top four finishers from last season before the end of October, and it'll have to compete against lunch-bucket teams like Bolton (Sept. 10) and Stoke (Sept. 24) on the road. But the crowded holiday fixture list has been kinder on paper, with newly promoted QPR, Fulham, Wigan and Blackburn from Dec. 17 to Dec. 31. Away to Newcastle on Jan. 2 could be a bit more problematic, 

3. We hardly missed you, Jordan Henderson

Fresh from his transfer from Sunderland, Liverpool's new midfielder Henderson might face his former team when the Reds host Steve Bruce's men at Anfield on the first game of the season. After that, Steven Gerrard & Co. travel to the Emirates, host Bolton and then are away to Stoke and Tottenham. The big derby with Everton is Oct. 1, and the Reds face Chelsea and Man City back-to-back in November.

4. Blues feeling good

Chelsea still might not have a manager yet, but it has a relatively easy ("on paper," of course) time out of the gates. The Blues start the season away to Stoke, and playing in Britannia Stadium is by no means a cakewalk. After that, they take on West Brom and Norwich at home, then away to Sunderland before facing United at Old Trafford on Sept. 17. There's no reason Roman Abramovich's team shouldn't face Ferguson having already bagged 12 points. Chelsea seems to benefit from having the top teams spaced out in the fixture list, as it doesn't play Arsenal until Oct. 29. Liverpool is Nov. 19. So the table is set for the Blues to get off to another strong start. Then again, we saw what happened last season when they were cruising along until the infamous sacking of Ray Wilkins.

5. Old 'Arry better be ready

As Spurs head coach Harry Redknapp fights to hold on to his prized midfielder Luka Modric, he must ready his troops for battle right away. In August, Tottenham faces Everton at home, United away and City at home. While it should beat Everton on (wait for it) paper, given that David Moyes' team has been bogged down by slow starts, it could also come away without any points after facing the two teams from Manchester. Fortunately for Spurs, the first of the derbies with Arsenal is at White Hart Lane, on Oct. 1, and during the crowded holiday fixture list, they face two newly promoted teams, Norwich and Swansea, away on Dec. 26 and Dec. 31, respectively, before returning home to take on West Brom on Jan. 2.

6. City's time to shine?

From the start of the season until Dec. 1, the Blues of Manchester face just one top-four team from last season: United on Oct. 22. In December, however, they play Chelsea and Arsenal back-to-back. But Roberto Mancini has a deep squad, one he'll probably add to during the summer to help slog through the six league fixtures in December, coupled with Champions League matches. Then again, City shouldn't look too far ahead, as August could also prove to be tricky. After opening the season at home to newly promoted Swansea, it faces Bolton and Tottenham away.

Arsenal sign defender Carl Jenkinson from Charlton

Arsenal have completed the signing of promising young full-back Carl Jenkinson from Charlton.

The teenager broke into Chris Powell's first team last season but his contract was allowed to run down. The Addicks, though, remain entitled to compensation of around £1million.

Jenkinson, 19, operates predominantly at right-back, but standing at 6'1" means he can also play at in the centre of defence.

Although born in England, he qualifies to represent both England and Finland through his mother and captained the Scandanavians at Under 19 level.

Addicks boss Chris Powell said: 'I want to put on record how much I admire Carl as player and, more importantly, as a young man. I wish him well on behalf of all the staff and players, because it's a dream move for him.

'If he grows into the right-back we all feel he could be, we could be talking about a player playing at the highest level for a long time.'

Powell continued: 'Carl's another one who has come from our youth programme, and if he follows in the footsteps of the likes of Scott Parker and Jonjo Shelvey, it will be great for him.

The Gunners also announced they have tied England youngsters Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke to long-term deals, along with Dutch youth international midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

'We will always look back at his time with us with fondness because he's been with us since he was an U9 player, and we hope he brings all the values that's he's learned here to Arsenal. I'm sure under the guidance of Arsene and his team, he could blossom into a wonderful player.'

The loss of Jenkinson came as a bitter blow to Charlton. Chairman Michael Slater was particularly disappointed when the player revealed he would not sign a new contract. 

Slater said at the time: 'We've worked hard to convince Carl that he would be a key figure in Chris Powell’s plans going forward. But regrettably Carl will not sign the contract and has indicated he wishes to leave the club at the end of the season.

'Having been with the club for 11 years and recently described his run of games in the first team as "a dream come true", it is a real shame that he appears to have decided his future lies elsewhere.'
