Caprica continues, January 2011

Syfy have announced that the second-half of Caprica's first season won't be on the airwaves until January 2011. A promotional trailer for season 1.5 is expected to be shown at the San Diego Comic-Con on 23 July, released on the web a week later.

What do you make of this news? It's certainly a very long wait for fans. Will such a lengthy hiatus (after airing just 9 episodes, to mixed reviews), be a stumbling block Caprica won't recover from? Will the extra time ensure the producers improve the show's formula, so it'll come back stronger? And with such a wait, why not just call January's return season 2?
