Heroes: Tim Kring moving onto III?
Heroes' fourth season finale airs on NBC this Monday (expectations very low, incidentally), but the fate of the superhero series has yet to be decided. Actor Greg Grunberg has mentioned how the finale ends on a cliffhanger, which you'd hope the writers wouldn't have included if they seriously thought there was any chance of cancellation. And there are still compelling reasons to keep Heroes on the air, despite dismal ratings, such as strong DVD and international sales. But, now we have news from Production Weekly that creator Tim Kring and producer Aron Eli Coleite are working on another series for NBC called III...
III will apparently be set in an alternate universe where the United States Of America was invaded, leading to World War III. Of course, it's completely possible that Tim Kring will just divide his attention between Heroes and III (if the latter gets picked up), or perhaps hand over Heroes' showrunning duties to somebody else if NBC greenlights season 5. But, it's interesting to speculate on what impact these behind-the-scenes goings-on will have on the show.
